An Evening Walk

Image
There’s something magical about evening walks. You step out feeling all motivated - ready to shake off the stress of work, studies, or household chores. You tell yourself, "Today, I’ll walk for 45 minutes, feel amazing, and go home like a fitness guru." But the moment you hit the street, reality kicks in. Cars zoom past, birds chirp, and kids run home, laughing, probably to eat something delicious. As you make your way to the park, you spot an ice cream shop glistening under the evening lights. And oh, the street food smells divine. But nope! You shake your head like a disciplined warrior, telling yourself, "Focus. Eyes on the prize. Walk first, eat never!" (Okay, maybe not "never", but "later").   You finally reach the park, where the air is fresh, the greenery is calming, and everyone around you looks equally determined. You walk, you sweat, you conquer! One hour later, you feel like a champion, proud of your effort.   Now, time to go home and ...

The Art of Kindness: Lessons from My Mom

Image
I love my mom, not just for who she is but for the kindness she carries in her heart. She has always been my greatest teacher, not just in words but in the way she lives her life. Her unwavering kindness and wisdom have shaped me into the person I am today. She has taught me the importance of treating people well, regardless of how they treat me in return.   My mom always says, "Treat others the way you want to be treated," whether they reciprocate that kindness or not. She has instilled in me the value of respect and the importance of speaking with warmth and patience. She believes that how we treat others is a reflection of our character, not theirs. Even when people are rude or inconsiderate, she reminds me to rise above it, to not take it to heart, and to never let someone else’s behavior dictate my own.   Whenever I’ve encountered people who were disrespectful or unkind, my first instinct was often to complain, to wonder why people couldn’t just be nicer. But my...

Your Best Friend - The Art of Being Alone

Image
If you had the chance to choose anyone in the world to be your best friend - someone who would always stand by your side, every second of every day - who would you choose?   Would it be a family member, a close friend, a colleague? Or would you set out in search of someone who truly understands you, someone who will never leave your side?   As we grow older, we realize that not everyone we meet is meant to stay forever. Some people teach us how to love, some show us kindness and compassion, some inspire us to follow our dreams, and some remind us to stay true to ourselves. Others, however, challenge us in ways that make us realize who we do not want to be around. Through all these experiences, we learn what to embrace in life and what to let go of. With time, we seek out people who understand us, who treat us with the respect and love we deserve. But in a world where loyalty can be rare, we sometimes find ourselves exhausted, discouraged, or even alone.   B...

New Year, New You?

Image
Every year, we make a list of resolutions with the hope of becoming a better version of ourselves. But the real question is: do we actually stick to them? Honestly, I don’t!   As a kid, I used to come up with so many resolutions on New Year’s Day, feeling excited and determined. But, without fail, I’d forget most of them by the very next day. Sound familiar? It’s something many of us can relate to because creating resolutions is easy, but following through is a whole other challenge.   The truth is, we can’t change everything all at once. Trying to do so often leads to feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, and, eventually, giving up. The good news is, change doesn’t have to happen overnight—it’s okay to take it slow and tackle one resolution at a time.   Let’s say your goals for the year include waking up early, going for a daily morning run, and joining an art class. Instead of attempting to do all three at once, start with the first goal. Focus on waking up ea...

A Heartfelt Christmas

Image
Christmas is a time for exchanging gifts, and the most precious gift you can share this season is one that comes from the heart. This year, as you celebrate with your friends and family, don’t forget to gift yourself the most important treasures—self-love and self-care. In the hustle and bustle of life, it’s easy to forget how much you truly deserve a little time for yourself. So, take a moment to breathe, to slow down, and to appreciate the person you are. Treat yourself with kindness, fill your heart with love, and honor your well-being. It’s in these small, meaningful acts of self-care that we rediscover our inner peace and strength. Remember, self-love isn't selfish; it’s essential. By nurturing your spirit, you’re better able to spread warmth and joy to those you care about. But as much as you love to give, remember to check in with yourself. Take some time to relax, indulge in a comforting ritual, and reflect on how far you’ve come. This season is not just about giving to oth...

Simple Things

As we journey through life, we often find ourselves in a relentless chase, forgetting to pause, breathe, and truly embrace the world around us. Imagine awakening one morning after a dream that whisked you back to carefree childhood days spent playing with friends. The gentle chime of your alarm brings you back to reality, but it’s met with a smile, igniting the promise of a beautiful day ahead. You step outside for a morning jog, greeted by the breathtaking spectacle of a sunrise painting the sky in hues of gold and amber. Nature unfolds before you: magnificent trees sway gently in the breeze, and the sight of blooming flowers brightens your mood. Their rich colors and soft petals wrap you in a warm embrace of happiness, while the melodious chorus of birds fills the air as they flit about, embarking on their daily quest for sustenance. Returning home, you’re enveloped by the warm embrace of home-cooked comfort as your parents serve your favorite breakfast. You savor the moment, thinkin...
